ArmInfo. Elections are coming, which, by their very nature, are not ordinary. From this perspective, the behavior of certain opposition forces, which seem to perceive them as ordinary, is worrying. And the Armenian people have already seen what it means to participate in ordinary elections. This is stated in a statement by Vazgen Manukyan, chairman of the National Democratic Union Party and the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in post-Soviet Armenia.
"Our party proposed that the opposition go into the elections with two or three blocs of political forces sharing a unified program of ideas and behavior, which should serve as a counterweight to Nikol Pashinyan's destructive project. This government has already exhausted itself. But if this government is restored, we will gradually lose our identity and our will, depriving ourselves of the opportunity to have a prosperous, free, secure, and proudly developing independent state," Vazgen Manukyan said in a statement.
The politician believes that there are many political forces in the struggle against the government, offering the people various paths out of this deep hole and seeking to prevent the current government from being restored. "We have been and remain in this struggle, assisting and supporting these political forces. It is crucial now that there is no vote scattering in the elections and that the entire nation participates. We see our mission in these elections not in participating separately with our party or joining any of the already formed political forces, but in assisting these forces in implementing their programs, namely, in putting Armenia on a path to development. We call on our party members and supporters to actively support those opposition political forces that are close to our ideas: independence, sovereignty, defense, the Artsakh issue, issues of organizing the country's internal life, and the coordinated work of the Armenian state with global Armenian structures. We have fought for these ideas for decades. The opposition's victory is possible. Regardless of the election results, the National Democratic Union will continue to fight for the realization of its ideas," the NDU leader emphasized in a statement.
