ArmInfo.  The Armenian government will allocate 179 million drams to organize and hold the "Varchafest 2026" competition and festival. The decision was made at  a Cabinet meeting on July 30.

ArmInfo. A new case of food poisoning at a public catering facility has been identified in Armenia's Lori Province. On July 27, 2026, the Lori Regional Center of the Food Safety Supervision Authority received a verbal report of food poisoning. A large wedding was taking place at the Lori Peak restaurant in the village of Chochkan.

ArmInfo. Armenia has been elected Vice-Chair of the 49th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which will be held in Istanbul in June 2027, as reported by the press service of the Permanent Delegation of Armenia to UNESCO.

ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office is demanding the confiscation of 22 real estate properties from the second president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and persons associated with him, 19 of which have an average market value of AMD 11,154,790,000, as noted in a statement issued by the supervisory body.

ArmInfo. The Artur Tarkhanyan Center museum has condemned the Armenian government's initiative to remove the old Zvartnots Airport building from Yerevan's State List of Immovable Historical and Cultural Monuments  and terminate its legal status as a protected site.  According to the museum's press service, the structure is a globally recognized masterpiece of modern Armenian architecture. "Numerous publications have highlighted this unique structure, emphasizing its exceptional architectural value and significance," the museum stated. "Only seven similar airports remain worldwide, and all are protected by the state as vital architectural and cultural heritage sites, even when no longer in active use." The museum asserts that the historic terminal could be modernized to meet international standards.

ArmInfo.  The number of serious crimes decreased in the Shirak Region in the first half of  2026, while the number of particularly serious crimes increased, as  reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal  Affairs.  Citing the head of the Shirak Provincial Department of the  Criminal Police, the agency presented the dynamics of specific types  of crimes for the reporting period.

ArmInfo. According to analyst Tigran Dumikyan, if tensions in Armenian-Russian relations  persist or deepen, the possibility of tightening customs controls,  introducing additional trade restrictions, or revising energy pricing  policies cannot be theoretically ruled out. Referring to the recent  phone conversation between the leaders of Armenia and Russia, the  analyst stated that developments in Armenian-Russian relations in  recent weeks indicate the emergence of a qualitatively new situation  in bilateral relations.

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, under the baton of Maestro Eduard Topchjan and featuring popular Armenian performers, presented the "Yerevan Gala" concert program.      "We are on Yerevan's most beautiful rooftop. I believe that when Alexander Tamanyan designed the building, he envisioned that over time this space would be fully utilized," stated Norayr Nazaryan, Director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.      Thus, a new chapter in the history of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall has been officially opened. On this rooftop, the summer promises to be cool and filled with outstanding music. More concerts and cultural events are expected in August, with IDBank once again serving as the general partner.

He also stated that he will file lawsuits against anyone who  spreads false information or slanders him in connection with this  incident.
