Opinion: Armenia does not seek EU membership, fact well known in  Moscow, Brussels, Washington, and Yerevan

ArmInfo.  Armenia does not want membership in the European Union, a fact well known in Moscow, Brussels, Washington, and Yerevan. Americanist Suren Sargsyan  expressed a similar opinion.

According to him, Moscow, Brussels, Washington, and even more so  Yerevan, do not want this.

"If Armenia had such an intention, it would have had the historic  opportunity to declare it just a week ago and secure the support of  the European Union on the ground. However, since this did not happen,  one can assume that at this stage, speculation on this topic is  primarily populist and pre-election in nature," Sargsyan added.  Moscow previously issued an ultimatum to Yerevan to quickly decide on  membership in the Eurasian Economic Union or the European Union.
