ArmInfo. The "Strong Armenia" Party proposes its own solutions to the demographic problem. This was announced on social media by party representative Lilia Shushanyan.
According to her, each family with four children will receive 2 million drams, and upon the birth of a fifth child, the family will be provided with free housing. The party also aims to address the needs of poor families, especially those with children.
Shushanyan noted that, from a demographic perspective, the Republic of Armenia is a dying state. This is confirmed by American and European experts. Over the past 35 years, the region's population has grown by 17.2 million people, primarily due to the population growth in Azerbaijan. This trend will continue over the next 25 years: in both Georgia and, especially, Armenia, the population will continue to decline, while in Azerbaijan, on the contrary, it will increase, exceeding 11 million. According to forecasts from both the World Bank and the UN, the country will remain at 2 million people.
"Therefore, from a demographic perspective, we are already a defeated state. As a result of the wars, the country has suffered approximately 5,000 deaths and 12,000 injuries, which inevitably impacts the marriage rate and the decline in the birth rate. Moreover, the mortality rate over the past six years has exceeded the birth rate. In this situation, drastic steps are needed to rectify the situation," the Strong Armenia party representative emphasized.
