ArmInfo.Former MP, Greco-Roman wrestler, and Olympic silver medalist Arsen Julfalakyan has called on Armenian citizens not to become complicit in historical crimes, not to stain their hands with blood, to go to the polls, and to reject Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's rule.
"I have always been of the opinion that under no circumstances should this nation- destroying scourge have been allowed to remain in power after the surrender of Artsakh, let alone organize another election. He should have been removed from power long ago. Unfortunately, we are faced with reality as it is. And since the June 7 'elections' are essentially inevitable, what should be done?
First, unequivocally reject the Civil Contract, and second, be sure to participate in the elections so that they don't use your vote at their own discretion. Remember the example of the capital. A member of the Civil Contract, who received only 75,000 votes, became mayor of Yerevan, a city of 1.2 million, precisely because of low voter turnout," Julfalakyan wrote on his Facebook page. Thirdly, he called for not voting for forces that cannot cross the electoral threshold (4% for parties and 8% for political blocs).
"Check out the latest social surveys and cast your vote for one of the leading political forces. Most likely, there will be four such forces (if the Civil Contract doesn't resort to new atrocities in the meantime...), which will make your choice easier. And once again, no matter what, reject the Civil Contract. Don't become complicit in historic crimes; don't stain your hands with blood," he concluded.
