Geadis Geadi, a Cypriot Member of the European Parliament and member of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) faction, has expressed his readiness to continue cooperating with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) to raise the Artsakh issue on international platforms. He made this statement during a meeting with Ashot Danielyan, Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament, and a representative of the Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) of Artsakh, Ara Puluzyan, amid their visit to Cyprus.
According to the press service of the NKR National Assembly, during the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the situation surrounding Artsakh and issues related to the protection of the rights of the Artsakh people. The Cypriot MEP emphasized that, remaining committed to the fundamental values of justice and human rights, he will continue to provide support in defending defense the just rights of the people of Artsakh.
In turn, Danielyan, thanked Geadi for his pro-Armenian stance and draw attention to the unlawful trials of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan. In this vein, he presented several facts and underscored the need for an international response regarding the destruction of Artsakh's cultural and religious heritage by the Azerbaijani side.
During his visit to Cyprus, in addition to political meetings, the Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament and the ARF Central Committee visited the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Cyprus, where they met with His Eminence Archbishop Komitas. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the situation in Armenia and Artsakh. The Artsakh delegation also visited the Narek Armenian school and held a meeting with the Armenian community of Cyprus.
