Narek Karapetyan holds citizenship exclusively of the Republic of  Armenia

ArmInfo."I am not a citizen of the Russian Federation; I do not hold, nor have I ever held, any citizenship other than that of the Republic of Armenia,"  Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the opposition "Strong Armenia" political party, stated in a video address.  

His comments came in response to a Facebook post by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, which featured an extract from the Russian  Federation's Unified State Register of Legal Entities listing Karapetyan as a Russian citizen.

Karapetyan noted that he has lived in Russia for far less time than,  for instance, in England or Switzerland.  "Therefore, Alen  Robertovich, do not do such things," Karapetyan said, addressing  Simonyan.

It is worth noting that the extract from the Unified State Register  of Legal Entities the authenticity of which has not been officially  verified contains data as of August 2020. The document states that  Russian citizen Narek Karenovich Karapetyan owns a 2.5% equity stake  in "Mospromekspluatatsiya."
