Karabakh politician Artur Osipyan arrested for two months    

ArmInfo.  Karabakh politician Artur Osipyan has been arrested for two months. This was announced on social media by lawyer Roman Yeritsyan.

According to him, the decision to arrest the head of the Artsakh  Revolutionary Party was made by Judge Manvel Shahverdyan of the  Yerevan Primary Court.

It should be noted that representatives of the Ombudsman intended to  visit Osipyan in the pretrial detention center, but he declined to  meet with them. Meanwhile, as reported by the Investigative  Committee's press service, during the preliminary investigation of  the criminal case, factual evidence was obtained indicating that on  March 22, 2026, A.O., using information and communication  technologies, posted politically motivated messages on his Facebook  page, thereby directly and intentionally calling for violence against  RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Furthermore, upon learning of the election campaign that the Prime  Minister and other members of the Civil Contract party were scheduled  to hold in the Arabkir administrative district on May 18, 2026, A.O.   arrived in the courtyard of building No. 7 on Vratsakan Street with  the aim of disrupting the campaign.  Taking advantage of the public  nature of the campaign and the large number of citizens present, A.O.   obstructed the normal conduct of the campaign. He displayed open  disrespect for society and disregarded legal and moral norms,  specifically, using obscene language and indecent expressions,  ignoring calls from those gathered to respect and observe the rules  of coexistence, and disturbing public order.

During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, a criminal  case was opened against A.O. under Article 330, Part 2, Clause 3 of  the Criminal Code (public calls for the use of violence), Article  297, Part 1 (hooliganism), and Article 211, Part 1 (coercion to  conduct propaganda or otherwise obstructing propaganda). A.O. was  arrested.

As a reminder, on May 18, during the election campaign of the leader  of the Civil Contract party, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in the  Arabkir district of the capital, he was approached by Artur Osipyan,  head of the Artsakh Revolutionary Party. An argument broke out  between them over issues related to Nagorno- Karabakh. The situation  escalated, and Osipyan was pushed away from Pashinyan. He was  detained later, after Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan showed  Pashinyan a live social media post Artur Osipyan had made before the  incident: "If anyone knows where Nikol is, tell me-I'll find him and  rip his feathers out." He was immediately detained, and his Facebook  page was deleted.
