The telegram, distributed by the government press service, reads, in part: "I sincerely congratulate you on your 80th birthday. Your name and performing art have long become a symbol of Armenian classical music. For over half a century, you have consistently presented Armenian musical art to the world, simultaneously delighting your fans with unrivaled performances of world classics. Your contribution to nurturing young performers and guiding them on the path to high art is also invaluable. I wish you good health and inexhaustible energy. May your life always be filled with warmth, love, and endless applause from the public."
