ArmInfo.A positive trend in the fight against COVID-19 continues in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on September 10 at a government meeting.
According to him, the greatest risk of an outbreak of the epidemic in the near future may be the resumption of classes in schools. For this reason decisions have been made, which, however, are perceived ambiguously by the public. In particular, public discontent is causing the requirement for students to wear protective masks. But the authorities are forced to take this step in order to prevent return to a new crisis. The Prime Minister also stated that there are comments that cannot but cause surprise, since all the anti- epidemiological measures and decisions taken are aimed, first of all, at ensuring the safety of citizens, including children. "We will conduct daily monitoring of the situation, and if the positive trend continues, gradually, step by step, we will begin the process of overcoming the restrictions," the head of the Armenian government said.
He also noted that less than 200 cases of coronavirus have been steadily recorded in the country over the past 20 days. At the same time, the number of citizens undergoing treatment has significantly decreased; according to the situation, they are currently no more than 3 thousand. Also, the number of tested citizens is at an unprecedented high level, and the percentage of confirmed cases is also decreasing, which is 5%, which is a good indicator by international standards.
Recall that as of 11:00 on September 10, 174 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Armenia. In total, 45326 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 41,233 people recovered, 906 died. In the last 24 hours, the disease claimed the life of one person at the age of 82; he had accompanying chronic diseases. So far, 2,908 patients are receiving actual treatment. In total, 227,809 coronavirus tests were carried out in the republic (of which 3,250 were in the last 24 hours).
