ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes that embassies operating in Armenia will stop notifying their citizens to refrain from visiting the republic's border regions. Pashinyan stated this at a government meeting on February 12.
"Mr. Mirzoyan (Foreign Minister - ed.), we need to work with these embassies to ensure they don't continue to do this out of inertia," Pashinyan said.
The prime minister noted that in previous years, embassies of a number of countries periodically notified their citizens to avoid visiting border areas, particularly the Syunik region. He did not specify which embassies he was referring to, but such messages are most often issued by diplomatic missions of Western countries.
According to him, Armenia has long been ranked in various international rankings as a safe country in terms of domestic security and crime. He emphasized that a decline in crime was recorded in Armenia in 2025. Furthermore, the country has achieved peace and economic growth. All of this should contribute, and is already contributing, to an increase in tourist influx to Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan concluded.
